Ariel Barlow is a Childbirth International (CBI) certified and trained Birth Doula. She is also certified with the Matrona, a holistic and intuitive doula program. And was trained with International Placenta and Postpartum Association (IPPA) and after a very in-depth training is currently a Placenta and Postpartum Specialist. She is currently a Senior at Southeastern Louisiana University in their Family & Consumer Sciences dept, studying Nutrition Education and Promotion. She already has a degree from BRCC in Elementary Education. 
 

Ariel combines her background in education with her appreciation and respect for all birth processes. As a Doula, she provides emotional, informational, and physical support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

 

Ariel supports families for Homebirths and in Hospitals and Birthing Centers throughout Baton Rouge and New Orleans: Birth Center of Baton Rouge, Baton Rouge General Birth Center, Woman's Hospital, Ochsner Medical - Baton Rouge, Ochsner Baptist - New Orleans.

She has experience with multiples, vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC), water birth, managed and physiological births. She is certified with the American Red Cross in Adult/Child/Infant CPR, has received training from Gena Kirby on the Rebozo during labor, Spinning Babies techniques with Gail Tully, and received Holistic Doula Training from The Matrona.

Born in New Orleans and raised in Baton Rouge, she loves everything about this town (except the traffic).  She and her husband have been married for 12 years and together they have three daughters (Bliss, Ella, and Veda), a dog - Dorothy, a cat - Charlie, and a bunny - Yin. When she is not at a birth, you can find Ariel studying, trying the newest restaurant in town, and loving on her animals.
